Eastwood Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking to fill the position of Lead Pastor with the man that God

is calling to lead, guide, and direct this body of Christ believers. Currently, Eastwood includes two

campuses with locations in Bowling Green and Alvaton, a nearby community. The Lead Pastor will

preach and teach primarily at the Bowling Green (East) Campus and provide leadership for our entire

church body.

Eastwood has recently worked through a two year vision-casting process and will earnestly and

prayerfully encourage and support the Pastor to further the implementation of that God-given vision.

The mission at Eastwood is to develop relationships that impact people with Biblical answers to life’s

challenges! We value the power of God’s Word, the pursuit of life transformation, the passion of

missional living, and the priority of authentic relationships.

Eastwood believes that the Lead Pastor is accountable to Christ as the Chief Shepherd and Head of the

church. The responsibilities of the Lead Pastor are outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. The qualifications

for the Lead Pastor should include:

  • Giving testimony and evidence by his life that Jesus Christ is both his Savior and Lord
  • Sensing God’s calling on his life to serve in the ministry
  • Fulfilling the requirements found in 1Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
  • Accepting the Baptist Faith and Message as revised in 2000 as a summary of his beliefs
  • Believing that the Bible is the inspired Word of God without error in the original writing and fully trustworthy as our final and sufficient authority for all of life
  • Believing in and practicing a life of worship, prayer, personal witnessing, discipleship, and tithing
  • Living and teaching the Biblical standards of morality, Christian ethics, and the fruit of the Spirit
  • Being a servant-leader who exhibits humility, compassion, wisdom, honesty, integrity, and unity

The Lead Pastor should exhibit the ability to lead, organize, mentor, disciple, and develop staff and lay

leaders for the Kingdom Work. He should model transparency and authenticity with the congregation,

and lead by example. A strong advocacy for mission work at the local, state, national, and international

levels is desired. A Master’s Degree in either Divinity or Theology is preferred.
