What worship means to us

Worship is so integral to the life of the church that when we say we are “going to church,” what we most often mean is that we will be attending a worship service. Worship is mentioned in Scripture, from the first book (the difference between how Cain and Abel worshipped God in Genesis 4, Noah and his family worshipping after the Flood in Genesis 8:20-22, and more) to the last book, where much of Revelation is a vision of heavenly worship. Clearly worship is important. But what is worship? By definition, worship is ascribing worth to something or someone. But true worship is also a matter of the heart. It must be felt. It can't be ritualistic. It can't be just an external going through the motions.

True worship is a heartfelt expression of love, adoration, admiration, fascination, wonder, and celebration. It's something that happens in your heart and soul when you begin to praise God for who He is and thank Him for what He has done. At Eastwood we encourage individual worship through the week and the gathering for corporate worship on Sundays.

First Time Here?

What to Expect

Welcome! We would love to have you join us for a worship gathering at Eastwood Baptist Church, which is one church in two locations. No matter where you have come from and where you are on your spiritual journey, we want to come alongside to inspire, equip, and encourage you to live out a life that will bring glory to God and be a blessing to the world.

Here's all you need to know for your first Sunday morning gathering: Come as you are. Our members wear everything from shorts and t-shirts to suit and tie. Parking is available next to the building at both locations and you can sit wherever you'd like. Services last about 75 minutes, during which time we'll worship through music, the preaching of God's Word, and prayer. Our music is a mix of recent praise songs and hymns. Sermons are text-driven from the Bible with an emphasis on life applications that show Scripture's relevance to our everyday life.
